Job Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director of Operations will assist the Director of Operations with the following responsibilities:

Bookkeeping

Use QBO to book and reconcile all bank transactions

Create year-end and other reports for tax returns (completed by accountant) and grant reporting

Work with accounting firm to complete tax return, including generating reports, answering questionnaires, and quantifying services delivered

Monitor cash flow, in coordination with Executive Director
Client Finances

Keep detailed and accurate records of all client payments

Maintain updated client trust balances

Process employee hours and create client invoices in a timely manner

Be responsive and courteous to clients with questions about their invoices and trust balances

Keep track of payment plan arrangements with various clients
General Operations

Check scanned mailbox and forward mail to appropriate parties

Assist with onboarding new employees, especially relating to payroll and time tracking

Work with Executive Director to consider and implement new policies relating to all of the above
Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience working with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Google suite
-
A demonstrated interest in economic, social, and racial justice is desirable.

Strong written and verbal communications skills. Fluency in Spanish or another second language is desirable but not mandatory.

Remote work options
We are happy to hire outside of Austin. Our staff began working fully-remotely when the COVID pandemic began. That has worked very well for us, and we have no plans to end that flexibility.
