Job Responsibilities:

Representing clients in state court.

At the outset, the staff attorney’s caseload will comprise primarily family law cases.

Depending on the attorney’s interest, the caseload could expand to include other types of law we practice, including housing, criminal defense, probate, or civil rights litigation.

Maintaining a full-time schedule with occasional evening and weekend hours.

Supervising and supporting paralegals in family law matters.

A demonstrated interest in economic, social, and racial justice.

This position calls for a person with experience representing clients in family law matters. The ideal candidate will have a background consulting with clients, issue spotting, reviewing evidence, drafting court documents, and appearing in court.

Attorneys must already be licensed in Texas or have a concrete plan to be licensed shortly after hire.

Fluency in Spanish or another second language is desirable but not mandatory.
Compensation

$64,200 annual salary.

Remote work

Office: Our staff began working remotely when the COVID pandemic began, and we expect that will continue indefinitely. We do not provide access to office space, and you will not be expected to come into an office.

Court: the staff attorney must be available to appear at in-person courts settings in Travis, Hays, Williamson, and Bastrop counties.
